  • Target: To Plant 200 trees along a new low-income settlement/society
  • Sustainability: Local residents to water and look after trees planted outside houses, one gardener on payroll
  • Selection of Trees: Neem, Gulmohar, Amaltas, Local Almond, Guava
  • Partners: Rotary Sharqi, Individual Environmentalist Donors
  • Approx. Project Cost: Rs. 40,000 
    (1-4' fruit & flowering plants 35avg x200 = 7,000 +
    Transportation 2,000 +
    3 months
    caretaking 4,500x3=13,500 +
    1 Truck each Soil & Manure 5,500x2=11,000 +
    Digging Labour 4000+
    Misc Expense 2,500 )

Procedure
  1. Hole Dig up (2x2 feet)
  2. Fill up with Soil+cow manure composite mix
  3. Plastic bottle for drip watering
  4. Plant placement
  5. Protective hedging where necessary

Many thanks for the appreciation and comment Farhan. Further to your observation I have now added a breakup of the cost above for a comprehensive understanding of the variables involved.

In case of large scale plantation, the cost comes down due considerably due to economies of scale, selection of plants and their age/size.

With your prayers and support, Inshallah our next such project would be on a larger scale.

you can get sapling from forest nurseries @ Rs 2/- per sapling.

btw project cost seems too high as compared to total number of trees.
